Fried Fish

There are different types of fish which can fried and eaten with various dishes.  Hutwise Fried Fish is small Tilapia fish fried in vegetable oil.  It is ready to eat, and only needs to be warmed in a microwave for 30 to 45 seconds. 

Frish fried is called kyenam (Ga and Akan languages in Ghana), and usually could be Tilapia, Red Snapper, etc. 

Preparation and use in recipes

Our fried fish is best eaten with kenkey. This is a special way of eating it in Ghana, and harkens to the type of Fried fish one would buy from a kenkey seller and is eaten with shito.  If you buy our kenkey, shito and fried fish, your meal will be ready in less than 5 minutes! This is an excellent comfort food and will remind most Ghanaians of boarding school days, or their favorite kenkey seller.
