Yam which is a tuber crop comes in different varieties. While are considered for some specific usage, others fit into almost any dish. Yam could be eaten Fried, boiled, roasted, pounded, grinded, mashed, streamed among others. But today, we will be looking at how to make yam chips that taste crispy and delicious.

Ingredients

1 tuber of white yam

Vegetable oil for frying

Salt to taste
Directions
Peel, cut yam into tiny slices and put into large bowl.
Wash peeled yam and soak in plenty water to free up starch. Add salt to taste.
Drain with colander to reduce water around yam.
Pat dry with kitchen towel.
Heat frying oil for five minutes and drop slices of yam in batches and fry for 8 mins. Repeat on others until complete.
Recipe Note
Fried yam is best enjoyed with pepper or ketchup alongside fried sausages, fried fish or chicken.
