Palmnut soup is a soup which is usually prepared using palm fruits. Palmnut soup is usually asscoiated/eaten with fufu, rice and banku. Here is the recipe for preparing this sumptuous soup from Ghana. A fun fact before we head into the recipe; Did you know that palm kernel oil has anti-ageing benefits. It prevents wrinkles and keeps your skin smooth. It's used in various creams. Dr Oz has recommended that people find as many ways to eat It as possible, including in their breakfast, snacks, etc.

Ingredients

Palm nut paste

Mrs Ansah Seasoning

Dried Fish

Pepper

Maggi cubes (optional)

Ginger

Directions
Blend the ginger, garlic, and onion in a blender until smooth.
In a large cooking pot, add meat, add ginger, garlic and onion mixture, salt, and Mrs Ansah spices/seasoning.
Steam meat for about 5 minutes and add your palm nut paste.
Add water depending on the thickness you want.
Add pepper, tomatoes, and onions to the cooking pot, after 3- 5 minutes remove from soup and blend until smooth.
Add the pepper, tomatoes and onions mixture to the soup and stir.
Add fish and allow to cook until soup is somewhat thickened.
If there is too much palm oil on the surface for your liking, skim it off with a spoon before serving.
Recipe Note
Taste for salt and serve with rice or fufu.
