Most of the time people either boil or fry their yams. However, there's always that odd occasion when we prefer not to chew and would love the taste of mashed yams.
Owuraku Ampofo
2 tubers of yam
3 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of sugar
Wash yam. Peel and cut yams into small cubes.
Boil yam in a pan of water until soft
Drain water and remove from pan.
Mash in a container using hand or mixer or pestle whilst adding butter, sugar and cinnamon
You can enjoy it alone or add any sauce of your choice.
