Boiled yam is a very prominent meal in every African household. A dish which can be accompanied with different type of soups and stews. No matter how nice these accompaniments are, the quality of the boiled yam affects how well the dish will taste. That's why you need to follow the right steps below so you can make your yam soft and delicious.

1 Medium size Pona Yam

1 tbsp Salt
Directions
Peel your yams and cut them into pieces. The size of your yams should be your own preference, but smaller sizes make cooking easier and faster.
Rinse your yams and place them in the cooking pot with enough water to cover the yam.
Add salt to taste and place on the cooker at medium heat.
Let it boil for about 20 minutes.
Drain the water and let it cool down for about 5 minutes
Voila!!! Your boiled yams are ready.
Recipe Note
Serve with your choice of spinach stew, garden eggs stew, egusi stew, corned beef stew or a soup of your choice. Bon appetite!!!
