The truth is ripe fried plantain is popular because of how exotic it is. However, unripe plantains in boiled form can also be a very delicious yet more healthy alternative. Boiled plantain when made right taste equally as good as fried plantain.
4 Green Plantain
1 tbsp Salt
Wash the plantain and cut both ends off. Cut each plantain into four pieces without peel them
Rinse the plantains and place them in the cooking pot with enough water
Add salt to taste and place on the cooker at medium heat
Let it boil for about 15-20 minutes.
Drain the boiled water and pour cold water on the plantains.
Remove all the plantain peels and let plantains sit in the cold water for about a minute.
Drain the cold water. Yummy!!! Your boiled plantains are ready
Serve the delicious boiled plantains with any accompaniment of your choice whether; spinach stew, garden eggs stew, egusi stew, corned beef stew or any soup.
